Well, Momma Bear Emergency Planning has officially launched, and if you’re reading this, you're on my list of FAVORITE PEOPLE EVER! This has been a massive labor of love that’s been going on behind the scenes for a long time now. I could talk about emergency planning for days and days (sorry to everyone I’ve ever cornered, especially the ladies at Candace’s bachelorette party!), but starting Momma Bear is entirely new and insanely scary. The planner in me wants to have everything perfect before releasing it to the world, and I am learning everything as I'm going.
Momma Bear. It took a long time to come up with the name, but it is such a true reflection of what I am shooting to do. Momma Bear is looking to make a massive social shift on how emergency planning is approached. Any time you want to create a lasting cultural change, start with mothers. They are the anchors of the home, pillars of community, and willing to do whatever it takes to protect their family. Momma Bears are strong and decisive. These women are true change-makers, and Momma Bear Emergency Planning is honored to come alongside them and play its small role in making their lives a little more prepared.
There’s a theory that emergency planning needs a “whole community” approach to be effective. The family is the most important aspect of the community, but they have only been an afterthought for so many emergency planning efforts. Momma Bears deserve beautiful, easy to use tools to help them plan for their everyday and extraordinary emergencies.
So, let’s take this journey together. Momma Bear truly wants to make emergency planning less doomsday focused and more everyday focused. There are so many reasons why you’ll benefit from having an emergency plan that don’t involve an end of the world zombie apocalypse (although, I do have a zombie plan, but it really depends on if we’re talking about Walking Dead zombies or Pirates of the Caribbean zombies… If they can go underwater, I’ll need to start all over!).
